A Day of Joy, Devotion, and Spiritual Bliss
Every year, ISKCON Gurugram becomes a radiant center of celebration as thousands of
devotees gather to honor the divine appearance of Lord Krishna, the ever-charming, all
attractive Supreme Personality of Godhead.
From the peaceful hours of dawn to the blissful stroke of midnight, the temple offers a
deeply devotional and joy-filled experience that touches every heart.
Mangala Aarti – The Day Begins at 4:30 AM
The celebrations begin at 4:30 AM with the sacred Mangala Aarti, where devotees gather to
greet the Lord with heartfelt singing, rhythmic clapping, and joyful dancing. The temple is
decorated beautifully with flowers, lights, and rangoli, radiating a festive, spiritual
atmosphere.
Stalls Full of Seva & Smiles
Throughout the day, colorful devotional stalls run by volunteers create a festive spiritual fair
across the temple grounds. There are:
Face painting and mehndi stalls
Games and quizzes based on Krishna’s pastimes
Art and craft corners for children
Every stall is an opportunity for devotees to serve others joyfully and offer their talents to
Krishna.
Abhishek Seva – A Rare Personal Opportunity
One of the most cherished experiences at ISKCON Gurugram on Janmashtami is the
chance to personally bathe Lord Krishna through Abhishek Seva. Devotees can choose
from:
Copper Kalash Abhishek
Silver Kalash Abhishek
Gold Kalash Abhishek
Whether young or old, each devotee offers with love according to their capacity. This
personal interaction with the Lord brings immense joy and a deep spiritual connection.
Prasadam for All – Krishna’s Loving Mercy
Thousands of plates of delicious prasadam (sanctified food) are served with great care and
devotion throughout the day. Special food counters are set up where devotees are warmly
welcomed and lovingly served Krishna’s mercy in the form of tasteful, sattvic meals. The
spirit of service fills the air, as no one leaves without tasting Krishna’s kindness.
Evening Bhajans & Jhulan Seva
As evening falls, the temple atmosphere turns even more magical with soul-touching
bhajans and the enchanting Jhulan Seva (swinging of baby Krishna). Devotees gently swing
the beautifully decorated deity of Krishna, offering flowers, sweets, and heartfelt prayers.
Midnight Janmotsav – The Divine Birth
Exactly at midnight, the temple comes alive with spiritual ecstasy. The blowing of conch
shells, the ringing of bells, and the chanting of “Hare Krishna!” fill the air. A grand Abhishek
of baby Krishna is performed with milk, honey, ghee, and fragrant water. The Lord is dressed
in stunning new attire, and the temple dances in bliss.
Janmashtami – A Festival of the Heart
At ISKCON Gurugram, Janmashtami is not just an event it is a celebration of the soul, a day
to reconnect with Krishna through love, service, and joy. Whether it’s performing Abhishek,
serving prasadam, running a stall, or simply singing Krishna’s names everyone gets a
